Points worth remembering......
Always consult your GP before starting an exercise programme.
Learn as much as possible about the activity you are performing. Learn correct techniques by hiring a personal trainer even for a couple of sessions until you feel confident to train on your own. Go to a regular yoga class and/or read as much information about the exercise you are doing.
Vary your activities to improve your overall fitness. Working on only one activity will eventually cause imbalances to your body. Try and aim for at least 2-3 different types of activities that complement each other.
Be patient as you’re challenging your body and mind. Always build up progressively in whatever you are doing. Being impatient and progressing to quickly could be disastrous.
Always make sure warm up and cool down after each exercise session.
Make sure you allow your body to rest. At least one day off a week. Strength actually builds when you ’re resting, not while you ’re exercising. Rest is as equally important as a workout.
Look at all areas of your health and lifestyle for optimum fitness and well-being.
