Jacknife & Press Up

  • Alternate these two exercises together (Jacknife & Press Up - check past exercises of the week)
  • Start in push up position with your feet on the Swiss ball and hands on floor below shoulders
  • Hold spine in perfect alignment, draw belly button gently intowards spine
  • Whilst maintaining neutral spine throughout the movement, draw knees towards chest
  • Hold and then return to start position and follow with a press up
  • Then follow on with a jacknife and pressup alternately
  • The further the ball is away from you the harder the exercise
  • Repeat as many times as you can hold perfect alignment
  • Do not comprise technique for reps , but this is a challenge
  • IMPORTANT - Make sure you can complete both exercises separately in perfect form before performing together, as above. (Remember to check back for exercise desciption for both exercises!)

Surfing Benefit:
A challenging exercise to promote upper body strength & greater shoulder stability, core strength and balance to improve surfing performance. It's great but a toughie!!
